The sole purpose of this site is to aid in establishing tradition. I know how sickening it is to hear over and over, but there is very little incentive or motivation to take any amount in pride in a program if it lacks tradition.

The Negaunee School District is one filled with rich tradition, on the field, the court, extending through its talented music programs, and of course the classroom.

Our goal is to add our tennis program to that list, and try to keep it there permanently. What this means is competing with the likes of Iron Mountain, Marquette, and Kingsford year in and year out, while doing it so the right way. By playing with respect, hopefully we can build a program to the level in which we can demand that same respect each year. Our goal is not to be mediocre, but to set a high standard each season, one that will drive next year's athletes to meet and exceed the previous expectations. Of course talent varies, and therefore results may some year, but the work that is put in should never change.

All too often tennis is looked at as a "minor sport", a pushover. But, we hope that stereotype will slowly change with success. With a girls MPC title in recent years, 3 straight boys titles, there is a bar to be reached for.
